Impact

I wrote this song one day while I was reading a news article in the internets about the first Iraq war veteran that refused to go back to serve and was put on trial. The article had a video of him giving a speech before his trial. It was inspiring to me. Steve on guitar and myself on the drums, there are no vocals recorded.

Forget Me

This song was never actually written, but rather Chris, Steve and myself just kinda did it. We were in Steve's old apartment in Aurora jamming one night, hit record and out came this. If this is actually "made" into a song, we won't rip off the "I just wanna get free" intro. Steve on vox and guitar, Chris on drums, and myself on the bass. Enjoy!

Fool's Dream - Demo 06

Well this is a classic INSTIGATOR tune, this recording coming from our first recording sessions in Brett's basement. Basically we put a condenser mic in the middle of the basement and... Voila!! Steve on vox and guitar, Chris on drums and vox, and myself on bass and vox with random backups by whoever was chillin' in the basement with us!

Humans Are Crawling the Earth - Demo 06

Another classic INSTIGATOR tune, this recording coming from that same recording session mentioned above. I hadn't written lyrics for my verse yet so I kinda just started yelling and stuff. Recorded in Le Chateau Weymehr, and produced on Audacity, the greatest free ghetto-rigged software recorder around. Steve on vox and guitar, Chris on drums and vox, and myself on bass and vox with screams and shrieks. The last verse isn't what is typically sung at shows, and it may change, but if you listen closely, you can hear an echoed-out-backwards-phaser track of the usual verse in the backround. (In the backround, of the last verse, that is.)

No Reprieve - Demo 06

Yet another INSTIGATOR Basement recording. Hristos has a nice little "penis" whisper introduction on hte uncut version... A lot of the echoes you hear are actually the speakers being captured by the microphone while recording second and third vocal tracks. (The basement has an eggcrate foam mattress sheet hammered to the wall, that's what we call "acoustics".) Steve on vox and guitar, Chris on drums and vox, and myself on bass and vox.

Atlas

Consider this a as of yet unreleased classic. I recorded this one hazy day, after having a rough version of the song down for months and months. The problem is that I recorded the guitar track first, and then after feeling ambitious, recorded the drums, then the vocals. But I think it turned out alright, for a reference point. It was me, me, me me!!! I recorded everything!!! BWAAHAHAHAHAH!!! It was in an apartment in Pilsen, where I was living. My room was the bedroom, office, work area, closet, and practice space, and the room was none too big, but many great times were had there, including this recording.

Terribly Wrong

This little diddy was another one that was off the cuff, but never made the cut. It was me, Stevie, and Chris in my concrete apartment. We setup an electronic drumset, and a guitar through a mixer, which went into a 1/8th cable into my computer. In short, ghetto rigged. Anyhow, this was probably the hardest jam we made, and one of my faves, perhaps it will morph into a song of the future? Enjoy the whisper singing and ever-real drums of the TD-3.

American Idle - Live from the kitchen!

Live from the kitchen at the good old Pilsen house! What can I say except LOUD, FAST, AND DRUNK! Slightly retouched with a guitar track over the top of the original live recording. The amount that we drank during these recording sessions was quite astounding, admirable, and dare I say audacious?? Unbelievable loud, in our kitchen. Everytime we had practice there and people hung out in the kitchen, almost every person complained of a headache. Quite the environ. Steve on vox and guitar, Ohnar on drums, and myself on bass and vox.

Emo Kids - Live from the kitchen!

Another one live from the kitchen at the good old Pilsen house! Again... LOUD, FAST, AND DRUNK! The lyrics are totally illegible, but you can tell we were a tad too trashed to notice/care. We never imagined our little po-dunk song would ever make it to this big here-un internets! Steve on vox and guitar, Ohnar on drums, and myself on bass and vox.

Reflection In the Mirror - Live from the kitchen!

A kitchen rendition of our age-old classic. I sound like I am barking because well... I am! Again... LOUD, FAST, AND DRUNK! I think this recording captures what it was about, which is loud and abrasive, while having a great time. We were practicing quite a bit at this point, having our entire band at the time living in the same house together. It brings a new level of influence on your life when you live with people in the band. Hence, loud, abrasive, and a good time. Steve on vox and guitar, Ohnar on drums, and myself on bass and vox.

Repeat - Live from the kitchen!

We actually spent quite a bit of time on this one... only to have me accidentally erase all of the data after we were nearly finished... D'oh! The vocal sessions for this took a long time, meaning 3 hours one night, while we progressively got more drunk. The vocals were actually recorded in Hristos' room, which was about 6 feet by 6 feet, with the bed and dresser included! Steve on vox and guitar, Ohnar on drums, and myself on bass and vox.
